Panama one of few countries in region to record economic growth

  Panama and Peru are the only Latin American countries to avoid a decrease in their respective Gross Domestic Products (GDP) this year, according to a World Bank report presented yesterday at the Second Summit of Finance Ministers of the region being held in Chile. "In 2009, few countries will escape a drop in GDP, while growth next year is again likely to be slow, 1 or 2 percent, and non-uniform," the report stated. Bar association rules on billboard issue

The National Bar Association has ruled that the Panama City Mayor's Office erred in allowing businesses to erect billboards in public easements along roads.
