The Third Division of the Supreme Court has ordered the temporary suspension of efforts by the Chitré City Council to purchase a building on the Plaza Doña Sara to house the municipal offices.
The court ruled that the agreement to purchase the building breached legal requirements established for public procurement.
Mario Castillo, president of the Committee to Pomote the Progress of the District of Chitré, said the court made the right decision, and vowed to keep fighting the council.
“The location is not appropriate,” Castillo said.
