A dangling electrical cable took the life of 14-year-old Zaya José Estribí in his neighbor's yard. The cable was part of an illegal connection that his father, Domingo Estribí, installed on the neighbor's line to supply electricity to their residence.
Estribí explained that his son slipped and grabbed the cable that was cut loose and hanging in a nearby branch.
The grieving father claimed that he was not able to legally install electricity because they only have possessory rights to their property, and have not been granted a title of ownership. He called on authorities for help before another child suffers the same fate.
