Tourism chamber president re-elected

Jaime Campuzano, who represents the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Panama, has been re-elected president of the Panama Chamber of Tourism.

The president said that the major issue facing the chamber is the implementation of the Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development, which was recently unveiled by the Tourism Authority of Panama.

“We have to keep pace with growth in the sector to turn tourism into the main economic activity of Panama, and Panama as the main tourist destination in the region,” he said.

Enrique Pesantez was named the chamber's vice president, while Liliana Motta de Argüello was named secretary. The new treasurer will be Martha Villalobos.
