Canal expansion contracts top $300 million

The Autoridad del Canal de Panamá (ACP) has issued a total of $302 million in contracts for the expansion of the Panama Canal as of the end of September.

That figure was part of the eighth quarterly report recently issued by the agency.

The document, which was made available to the public yesterday, was also delivered by the ACP to the National Assembly, the executive branch and the General Accounting Office.

The ACP reported that, in compliance with government regulations, the document was also sent to members of an ad-hoc committee established to evaluate the recruitment process and project implementation of the third set of locks. The report is also available at www.pancanal.com.
