Ngöbe Buglés to elect delegates this weekend
Residents of the Comarca Ngöbe Buglé will vote for district delegates this Sunday, Oct. 26, according to Orlando Camarena, chairman of the Anti-Corruption Council of the Comarca Ngöbe Buglé.
The chosen delegates will then be responsible for electing the next president of the Ngöbe Buglé General Congress on March 7, 2009.
Camarena noted that the period for nominating delegates closed last Sunday, following the fulfillment of a law stipulating that one delegate be selected for every 50 inhabitants. Some 2,221 delegates, therefore, will be elected this year.
He added that the nominations were conducted by regional organizations, including those devoted to artesanía, livestock, agriculture and society.
