60 kilos of cocaine found in vehicle

Sixty kilos of cocaine were confiscated yesterday by agents of the Dirección de Investigación Judicial in Arrraiján.
Officers found the drugs in a black Hyundai Galloper. Two people, whose names were not released, were arrested and transferred to the custody of drug prosecutors, where they are being held pending the filing of charges.
Police began following the vehicle on Avenida 24 de Diciembre in Panama City and stopped it near the Xtra supermarket in Arraiján.
This is the latest in a series of large shipments of cocaine that have been confiscated by police. It was not known whether the drugs were intended for local distribution or a foreign market.
