At a cost of approximately $20,000, the municipal government of Panama is planning to build a park at the entrance to Casco Viejo.
The park will be located on land that was formerly used as a public market.
According to municipal officials, the work is expected to take about a month. It will include constructing a sidewalk around the perimeter of the park. Crews will then landscape the area and install lighting and an estimated 20 benches.
The resulting green area is expected to be used to host a variety of recreational and cultural events, as well as provide a place where nearby residents can go for rest and relaxation.
