Prosecutors have announced that a jury will hear the case against Debra Ann Ridgley, an American who is charged with murdering Toni Grossi Abrams in April of last year.
The case is scheduled to go to trial in March 2009. Ridgley apparently had the choice of having the case heard by a judge or a jury, and picked the jury option.
Two other defendants, Didier Osorio and Camilo Cuenu Castro, are both believed to have fled to their native country of Colombia. They are both being sought by Interpol.
Abrams’ body was discovered in a field in Río Abajo. Prosecutors say that Ridgley, who had been staying with her, had taken part in the murder along with the two Colombians.
Abrams has maintained her innocence.
