Copa Airlines continues to seek solutions to the problem of a shortage of pilots and to develop its expansion plans.
"We are going to need an average of 80 new pilots every year for the next three years," the airline reported.
On Feb. 14 of this year, the Panamanian company signed a cooperation agreement ith the Instituto Nacional de Formación y Capacitación para el Desarrollo Humano (Inadeh) to promote the creation of the Instituto Técnico de Aviación Comercial de las Américas. A total of 75 pilots will graduate from the institute this year, and that figure will rise to 100 pilots a year in the next few years, according to Copa Airlines.
"Technical training programs on the ground, also known as Ground School, will be provided. The programs include extensive training with highly sophisticated simulators used in the best schools in the world of aviation," a report from Copa Airlines said.
