Balbina as candidate for presidency? Maybe

After the publication of a survey that put her as the most probable presidential candidate for the official Partido Revolucionario Democrático (PRD), Minister of Vivienda Balbina Herrera hinted during a radio interview yesterday that she might consider running for president during next year's elections.

Although she carefully insisted that her interest was limited to the presidency of the PRD and the Alcaldía de Panamá, Herrera said that her party must understand that the "challenge is winning the 2009 elections, and that in politics, things can change from one day to the other."
