Copa executive jumps to ships
The vice president of commercial operations at Copa Airlines, Jorge García, will leave that post at the end of March to focus on a tourism-related venture.
García said he is making the move "to seek new challenges and opportunities." "I want to take advantage of the economic growth that there is today in Panama, in industries such as tourism," García said.
García is one of the principal partners in Panama Marine Adventures, which offers week-long cruises as well as tours of the Panama Canal.
The airline has not announced who will replace García, who said he will leave with fond memories of working for Copa.
"Copa Airlines has undergone impressive growth thanks to the efforts of the entire management team and more than 3,200 associates," García said.
Panama Marine Adventures has two ships, one of which cruises between Panama City and the Darién, and another that provides tours of the Panama Canal. The company was formed in 2003.
