UNICEF results in Panama are good
According to Fernando Carrera, the local representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Panamanians should continue working on issues such as the bill for the protection of children and adolescents, as well as issues such as sexual education.
Carrera, who is leaving Panama, said he was satisfied with his work done here and with the achievements of the Network of Opportunities Program, which has scored good results in alleviating poverty and malnutrition in the country, as well as sending poor children back to school and sick mothers to health centers.
Carrera regrets leaving Panama, but said he has pending business in his native country of Guatemala. He said he would love to continue fighting for better education and the protection of children from abuse because so much still needs to be done in those areas.
