Hospital under siege by Anfaccs protesters

Members of the Asociación de Trabajadores Administrativos de la Caja del Seguro Social (Anfaccs) took over the administrative offices of the Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital in Colón for three hours yesterday to protest the lack of a salary increase.

The protesters blocked employees from entering their offices.

Anfaccs press secretary Ernesto Ortega said the protest was justified because of the complete indifference shown by the government to its requests for a salary increase. Anfaccs members believe such an increase should have been implemented at the beginning of this year. They were also protesting the conditions at the Guerrero Hospital.
