Dunlap leading at Club de Golf
Scott Dunlap shot a two under par 68 at Club de Golf de Panama Friday to take a three stroke lead in the 2007 Movistar Championship, the first event of the year for the Nationwide Tour.
The veteran shot a five under par 65 on Thursday. Windy conditions made the course play very difficult, as only nine players were under par after Friday's round.
Dunlap leads Ajun Atwal, who had a four under 66 on Friday after an even par opening round.
Tied for third place at three under par are Ben Bates, Chris Smith and first-round leader Jeff Klauk.
Missing the cut were Mike Norman, who is the head professional at Club de Golf, and John Morse, who will have one fond memory of the tournament. He had a hole-in-one on the 204-yard par 3 sixth hole.
Also missing the cut was defending champion Miguel Angel Carballo of Argentina.
There are 62 players remaining in the field. The tournament will continue today and will wrap up Sunday.
The Nationwide Tour is a step below the PGA Tour. It has held a tournament in Panama for the past five years.
