Villarreal-Aguadulce minibus driver assaulted

A total of $420 in cash and two gold necklaces were taken by two robbers who held up a bus driver last Sunday.

The victim, Ciro Bonilla, 71, drives a minibus on the Villareal-Aguadulce route. He had picked up the two subjects at the Virgen del Carmen bakery when one of them threatened him with a firearm and then hit him on the right cheek, Bonilla told police.

The robbers took the cash and jewerly and fled from the bus on foot. None of the other passengers were injured during the robbery.
