Police capture suspect
A Dominican woman was taken into custody Friday in connection with the murder of prominent lawyer Juan Carlos Dudley, who was found dead in a "push button" motel early Thursday.
Police are looking for one other woman who was reported fleeing from the crime scene.
The murder took place in the hotel Paris, a push button on Vía Transístmica.
A maid discovered the body when she went into the room. Two women pushed their way past her and ran from the hotel. Another witness later saw them trying to hail a cab on Vía Transístmica.
Police said they are still looking for the murder weapon. Dudley had numerous stab wounds, most of which were to his shoulders and neck.
They also said that it appeared as though the suspects were trying to clean the room when the maid interrupted them.
Police raided apartments rented to prostitutes around the city to find the suspects. Push buttons are often used for sexual encounters and are a popular place for customers to take prostitutes.
Dudley was vice president of the Colegio Nacional de Abogados and a law professor.
