The association of Panamanian business executives concerned with the nation’s competitiveness in the global marketplace has held its second forum devoted to the subject and stated publicly what it thinks must be done to make Panama the most competitive country in Latin America.
"We have advanced considerably in many areas, such as in the process of modernizing the State, in strengthening exports, and in the logistics and commercial sectors, but important work still remains to be done," commented Nicolás Ardito Barletta, a chief officer of the organization.
Among the most important pending tasks, he emphasized, are improving the quality of education, expanding human resource capacities, optimizing the transportation infrastructure, developing a good system for public transportation and fortifying the administration of justice.
